Deployment and Use of IT/ICT | DAJPL are commited to utilising the latest in technologies that can
be acquired for £2.50. Save for the ground equipment, fuel, rockets etc. we offer
an Ad-Hoc service to all other systems.
ICT systems are deployed throughout DAJPL are are mainly administered by
the NASRA Data Systems Division. DAJPL
contract all high-end flight analysis to the
Hellesdon Flight Physics Laborotory.
Types of System used by DAJPL | DAJPL generally use the standard NASRA ICT deployment policy for systems,
mainly using Windows based desktop client workstations with Unix backend.
Our analysis systems are deployed over a number of platforms but primarily
utilise Linux systems. All NASRA hosing requirements are handled through
VerroTech Industries who are able
to deal with the specific requirements of NASRA's online systems.
Systems on-site at the JPSFC include a multi-tier routed 10mbps
Ethernet network over multiple physical connections. On-site at
the CRDC there exists a switched core 100mbps network and various 10mbps
subnetworks fully routed to the Internet and NASRA systems. Although
the exact deployment of systems at the HFPL remains secret there is a
miture of switched and wireless networks in place accros-site for HFPL.
All serious projects are conducted in C++ using Borland C++ Builder under
Windows and the GNU C++ Compiler with Unix. Web-based deployment is
handled mainly with the PHP scripting language. Certain web applications
are written in Perl, Shell script and C++ using the Common Gateway Interface (CGI).
NASRA utilise data systems deployed internationally by VerroTech Industries
with MySQL as a back-end data server. Using MySQL allows maximum access directly
through the powerful MySQL client/development interfaces or from any
platform with ODBC.
